Synchrone has hours of video, and the useful information inside is hard to find. The case: build a prototype on Dataiku, the tool set for the project, that transcribes the videos, answers questions and points to the source passage. Then show that Synchrone would pay for it.

What I didCe que j’ai fait

• The team built the pipeline. I owned the demo video that presented it.
• Four versions, with the team’s feedback at each round, to a final cut of 4 min 43 s.
• I built the story around the jury’s question, would Synchrone pay for it: the pipeline first, then the business case.

• Quatre versions, avec les retours de l’équipe à chaque tour, jusqu’au montage final de 4 min 43.

What I learnedCe que j’en retiens

Making a technical subject simple. A pipeline only convinces a business jury once you explain it in their terms: what it does and what it costs.

Rendre simple un sujet technique. Un pipeline ne convainc un jury business que si on l’explique dans ses mots : ce qu’il fait et ce qu’il coûte.

French freelancers handle invoicing, taxes and cash flow in separate tools. Could one dashboard do all three, and could it be a profitable company? We had nine days to answer.

Les freelances français gèrent facturation, impôts et trésorerie dans des outils séparés. Un seul tableau de bord peut-il faire les trois, et en faire une entreprise rentable ? Nous avions neuf jours pour répondre.

What I didCe que j’ai fait

• Built the business plan from scratch in Excel: 5 years, 3 scenarios, with assumptions I set myself.
• Defended those assumptions in front of the jury.
• Prototyped the 3-screen app with AI tools. It was the product demo of our pitch.

We pitched at BCG’s Paris office. In our base case, the company breaks even in year 3 on €500k of non-dilutive funding.

What I learnedCe que j’en retiens

A model is only as good as the assumptions you can defend when the jury pushes back. And prototyping with AI made the idea clickable within the nine days of the case.

Un modèle ne vaut que par les hypothèses qu’on sait défendre quand le jury insiste. Et prototyper avec l’IA a rendu l’idée cliquable dans les neuf jours du cas.

Why I built itPourquoi je l’ai créée

Everything was scattered: timetable and grades on Inside, files on Drive, news on Slack and email. I wanted Claude and ChatGPT to see all my courses so I could revise with them. And I wanted to know if I could ship a real app.

Tout était éparpillé : emploi du temps et notes sur Inside, fichiers sur Drive, infos sur Slack et par mail. Je voulais que Claude et ChatGPT aient accès à tous mes cours pour réviser avec eux. Et je voulais savoir si j’étais capable de sortir une vraie app.

• Timetable and exams, synced from Inside every hour.
• Grades and attendance, with the 85% attendance threshold.
• Course files sorted by type and in order, mirrored into my Obsidian notes.
• An optional AI assistant that organises my courses into revision material and quizzes.
• Shared boards like Padlet, opened by link or QR code on the same Wi-Fi.

How I built itComment je l’ai construite

I designed every screen and feature, then directed AI coding assistants to write and test the code: a native Mac app, a local server and a sync engine for the school’s portal.

J’ai conçu chaque écran et chaque fonction, puis dirigé des assistants de code IA pour écrire et tester le code : une app Mac native, un serveur local et un moteur de synchronisation pour le portail de l’école.

Version 3.3, and two classmates use it. It is an unofficial student tool, not an Albert School product.

Why I built itPourquoi je l’ai créée

I wanted my Mac organised into groups of apps, each group opened in one click. It was also my chance to build a native app in Swift, from the first build to a public release.

Je voulais un Mac organisé en groupes d’apps, chaque groupe ouvert en un clic. C’était aussi l’occasion de construire une app native en Swift, du premier build à une version publique.

• Four launch modes per app: normal, background, hidden, always hidden.
• Keep an app open: Stack relaunches it if it quits.
• Take an app out of the Dock, quit everything in one click.
